Last week Britain was hit with extreme weather conditions, known as ‘The Beast from the East’- with freezing temperatures and heavy snow. Most of us woke up to a blanket of snow covering our gardens, with some areas of the UK receiving up to 15cm!

Some parts of England were issued with a level 3 cold weather alert, just one level below crisis. Schools were closed, flights cancelled and there were traffic warnings aplenty. Soon after the snow settled most of the UK had a severe, cold, blustery wind that was named ‘Storm Emma’ that caused damage to trees, roads and properties.

The gale force winds, combined with the heaving snow certainly didn’t help our rooflines, with many homes reporting loss of dry verges, roof tiles, damaged guttering and loose roofline.

Whilst we stock everything you need to repair any damages including FloPlast gutter brackets for Ogee, Square, Half Round and High Capacity guttering, Universal Dry Verge and Fascias and Soffit lengths and trims, we also stock products to prevent these damages to your roofline going forward, this includes our FloPlast Snow Guards, available in 2m lengths – ideal for roofs above conservatories or car ports, preventing the snow from falling in large clumps and causing damage. The Guard allows the snow to slowly melt and trickle through into the gutter.
